‘Round the Fire May 1st, 2022

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

Welcome to ‘Round the Fire where we look at what happened last week. You may have noticed that podcasts and posts are coming out at the same time. No, I’m not totally caught up on the podcast yet, I still have about 10 more to go or so. Since I’m so close I decided that all new posts and things would be done on both platforms.

Nana is here! She got here on Tuesday and now lives here. It will be a few months before she starts drawing for Arizkatt’s Herbs again since she needs to get her house in order first. My aunt Bonnie and cousin Jonny will be here this coming week from Tucson and will be staying for a week.

Herbers

This week was a busy one for you guys, you saw three new posts.

Herbal Entrepreneur Conference Day 4 which are my notes from the fourth day of the Herbal Entrepreneur Conference. I attended workshops by Margi Flint, Sharde ‘Roebuck Turner, and Ben LeVine. This I think was my favorite day of the conference. (these were removed during the site redesign)

Herbal Entrepreneur Conference Day 5 which is my notes from the third day of the Herbal Entrepreneur Conference. I attended workshops by AC Stauble, and Sarah Corbett. (these were removed during the site redesign)

And my favorite of the week is Steam Distillation & Spagyrics. Notes from Steam Distillation and Spagyrics class with James Brock. So much awesome information. (these were removed during the site redesign)

This Last Week

In the video series, “A Moment” this week we spent time with Poke, Queen Annes Lace, Toothache Plant, Bees, Mullein, and Tulsi.

Get Comfortable” featured Azalea.

These video series are geared for those of you who don’t have access to these plants, either because they don’t grow around you or for other reasons but would still like to be able to participate with the plants in this manner.

Monday and Tuesday, I finished editing the “A Moment” videos for May and scheduled them on both the blog and the podcast.

Also on Tuesday, we saw Looking Back where I’m looking back over the site as I record posts to the podcast, I reflect on how much things have changed and challenge you to reflect too. This was recorded as a podcast and transcribed to the blog.

Wednesday, I took Nana out to her house to show her all the cool plants in the yard and take stock of what needs to get done for her to move in.

Thursday, we saw Stop Food Waste Day. In this post, I talk about what food waste is and why you should care, why food waste happens, what you can do, and what I’m doing to stop contributing to food waste.

Friday was filter Friday, this week’s filter puts Dandelion flowers on your cheeks. Head over to arizkattsherbs on Instagram to view this filter and others.

Other things that happened this week but haven’t made it to the site yet, are:

I took Nana to purchase a car, she’s getting closer to being a resident.

We went to Home Depot to get the stuff to replumb the pool and while there I picked up more plants.

Saturday was spent replumbing the pool and planting the new plants.

Carole from the Herbal Circle started a new program called Herb Gals. An uplifting fun-filled conversation about herbs, with a focus on ONE herb each month and women’s health. Take a moment and check it out.

That wraps up this episode of ‘Round the Fire, I hope you join me again next week for another episode. In the meantime, you can find everything we talked about on the website, arizkattsherbs.com. Take care and see you soon.
