Today we Get Comfortable with Elder. Elder was another one purchased in the plant spree of Spring 2021. I couldn’t decide where to plant them so I put them in big pots thinking that I might just leave them like this.
At the beginning of Spring this year, I noticed one of them had grown into the ground through the drain hole in the pot. I carefully removed this root and moved the plant over a bit. The next day she looked so sad. I grabbed the shovel and put her on the ground where she had started rooting.
Within a few days, she looked so much happier. Her cohort is still in his pot and not growing so great. I’m debating on where to put him in the ground. The trees by the fence are starting to die. Given this, I would like to put the other Elder closer to the fence but I don’t think he would get enough light there currently.
“Get Comfortable” is an in-depth look at the plant and each part that makes up the plant while noting all the features one sees. We visit the same plants from the “A Moment” series, this time doing about ten to fifteen minute, visual plant sit meditations with the plant. Currently, the videos are recorded one month in advance and released every Wednesday. Click here to view the rest of the series.
This series' inspiration was the guided meditation from The Holistic Herbalism Podcast.
